DUGI OTOK, THE ISLAND OF EMOTION AND BEAUTY

Experience the diversity of the island of Dugi otok! The active holiday programme, featuring hiking, cycling, and sea kayaking, offers breath-taking views of the Zadar archipelago, Velebit, and the open sea. This journey is enriched by the scents of medicinal herbs, the sea, and pine trees, as well as countless encounters with warm and welcoming hosts who lovingly prepare traditional homemade dishes for us. The beaches and coves of Dugi otok invite you to explore and experience the diverse landscapes of this Adriatic gem.

Day 1: ARRIVAL

Arrival and ferry transfer to Dugi otok, followed by accommodation in a hotel or private apartment.

Day 2: DUGI OTOK BY BICYCLE

Explore the picturesque settlements and stunning coastline of Dugi otok by bicycle (e-bike ride approx. 45 km). Enjoy breath-taking views of Velebit, the neighbouring islands, and the vast open sea. Dinner at the accommodation and overnight stay.

Day 3: HIKE THROUGH TELAŠĆICA NATURE PARK

After breakfast, we begin our journey in Žman, a small fishing village on the island’s eastern side. We hike through olive groves and vineyards towards the island’s southern coast and Telašćica Nature Park (approx. 20 km), where a hearty lunch and breathtaking views of the cliffs on the western side of the island await us. In the afternoon, return to the accommodation for dinner.

Day 4: SEA KAYAKING

We explore the southern side of the island from the sea, kayaking along magnificent cliffs with stunning views of Kornati National Park. Along the way, we enjoy a picnic on a small island and have time for swimming before returning to our chosen accommodation. Dinner is not organised tonight, allowing you to discover the island’s culinary delights at your own pace.

Day 5: BOŽAVA AND VELI RAT

After breakfast, we set off from Božava towards Veli Rat, admiring the diverse Mediterranean vegetation and the mesmerising blue of the sea. At Saharun Beach, we not only enjoy swimming but also take part in a small waste collection initiative, contributing to the preservation of this stunning landscape. The day concludes with a visit to the Veli Rat lighthouse and a tasting of local products at a family-run farm. Return to the accommodation for dinner.

Day 6: BEAUTY OF THE SEA

Today, we set out once more to explore the hidden coves and inlets of the northern part of Dugi otok by kayak, immersing ourselves in the crystal-clear sea, the scents of Mediterranean plants, and the soothing sounds of birdsong. While swimming in the pristine waters, we may even be joined by the playful dolphins that inhabit this area. The day concludes with a group dinner in a local tavern, savouring traditional delicacies.

Day 7: RETURN HOME

Return home.
